Tongues as of fire Acts 2:1-4
On the day of Pentecost, seven weeks after Jesus’ resurrection the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them, and it filled the house where they were meeting. Then, what looked like flames of tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
Eyes like fire Rev 1:14
His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were bright like flames of fire.
Destroy the world 2 Pet 3:10-11
But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to judgement. Since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives you should be living!

Figurative uses of fire:
Affliction Isa 43:2
When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
Angels Heb 1:7
God calls his angels “messengers swift as the wind, and servants made of flaming fire.
Christ Mal 3:2
But who will be able to endure it when He comes? Who will be able to stand and face him when he appears? For he will be like a blazing fire that refines metal or like a strong soap that whitens clothes.
Holy Spirit Acts 2:3
Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.

Persecution Luke 12:49-53
“I have come to bring fire to the earth, and I wish that my tast were already completed! There is a terrible baptism ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to bring strife and division ! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or the other way around. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life It can turn the entire course of your life into a blazing flame of destruction, for it is set on fire by hell itself.
