Thoughts About Serving

Life is a battle between good and evil. We know from reading God’s Word, who wins this battle, and since man cannot serve two masters, because he will love one and hate the other, which master do we serve? One of them loves you and the other one hates you. One wants you to live and the other one wants to kill you. This choice as to which one to serve, is easy, once we know His truth. We also know that our battle between good and evil begins in our minds. The one master uses our weakness of the flesh, our lust, to serve him. The other master gives us His grace and love, as we serve Him. Yes, the flesh is weak and the evil one knows our weakness and uses it to his advantage. Since the battle begins in the mind, we are not what we think we are; we are what we think. God has provided us with His instruction book, the Bible, so that we can know His truth. God came to earth in the flesh, in the form of His Son, Jesus Christ, to show us His ways. He even died so that we may live, as we repent of our sins and ask Him to forgive us. He is our example to follow and those who choose to follow Him are called Christians because we follow Christ. Not only did God provide us with His instruction book, and His Son, as our Savior, He gave us the Holy Spirit to lead us, guide us, and tutor us, as to the way we should go. It is the evil one, Satan, who uses our weakness to get our attention. He uses situations, our sexual drive, and our me, myself, and I attitude to lead us away from God’s truth. His goal is to divide, conquer, and kill us. Why? Because God threw his butt out of heaven with one third of his angels, who chose to follow him, and he knows that he will spend eternity in the lake of fire (hell) and he wants to take as many of us as he can deceive, with him. For sure, he won’t be lonely, as he burns in hell for eternity because many souls will join him. This makes our “hope and change” here on earth, politically speaking, pale, in comparison to our hope and change of spending eternity in heaven with God. For those of you who think it is easy to live the Christian life, let me be bold enough to say this: You can’t live the Christian life! Say what?!!!! The power to live the Christian life comes from the Holy Spirit. It is the Trinity, God as Father, Jesus Christ as the Son, and the Holy Spirit, that shows us the truth. We are to look forward in our Christian walk, not backward. It is Satan that wants us to look back at our sins. Some people may think that God is millions of miles away, just waiting to hit us in the head with a baseball bat, the moment we don’t obey. Wrong! He is a loving God that loves us and does not want anyone to perish and spend eternity in the lake of fire. Here is the truth: If you are a born-again Christian, Jesus Christ lives in you, and you live in Him. If you live in Christ, then God lives in you too, and the Holy Spirit indwells you. You are not a cold and lukewarm Christian but you are on fire for Jesus Christ, not literally, but Spiritually. You are producing good fruit and are growing Spiritually every day. You have died of “self” and live for Christ. The Christian walk is not a “walk”, but a lifelong “journey” and when we breathe our last breath, our soul’s destination has been determined. It is a straight and narrow road, not the broad road to destruction. You are a member of the body of Christ and Jesus is the head of this body. May each of us read and meditate on His Word and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. To know Him is to love Him. Amen
